The AutoShotgun is the best close-range weapon in the game. Although you may have to reload often, the amount of rounds you can pump into your enemy in just a few seconds is amazing. Many refer to it as the 'newbie cannon' because it is an all-too effective weapon when in a close confrontation fight. But the trick to this weapon is knowing when to reload. You can't just reload in front of your opponent, nor can you hide and reload, because chances are he'll get the jump on you (camping doesn't work if the person knows you're there!). The effective way is to shoot a few shells off, then reload, then shoot a few more, reload, etc. The one advantage is that you can interupt the reload if necessary to fire of a couple of shots.
